The Perth Wildcats have been comfortably defeated by Melbourne United 67-93 in their third NBL Blitz game in three days.
Once again the Wildcats were without Derek Cooke Jr, Jean-Pierre Tokoto, Angus Brandt and Matt Knight, while Bryce Cotton played a limited role as he recovers from a corked thigh.
However, the Wildcats did see the return of captain Damian Martin and Jesse Wagstaff, who both sat out the game against New Zealand.
In a lacklustre afternoon, Dexter Kernich-Drew was the highlight.
The young sharp-shooter was on target, nailing five threes for his game-high 26 points.
Lucas Walker had another solid outing with 13 points and five rebounds.
The game was all but over in the first quarter, as Melbourne started the game with an 18-point run.
Perth struggles to find the basket, going 31 per cent for the game, while Melbourne were damaging from three-point range – nailing 11 threes from 26 attempts.
The Perth Wildcats now look to its final four pre-season games against Cairns and Sydney, starting in 11 days time.
