Doolittle was one of the stars of the Wildcats' 106-98 victory over South-East Melbourne at RAC Arena on Friday night, falling one point shy of a double-double.
He reeled in a game-high 13 rebounds to go with nine points and two blocks including a monster swat in the second half.
But it was the "little things" that Anthony saw from Doolittle.
Speaking on The West Australian's The Dribble podcast, the 10-time NBA All-Star said Doolittle's efforts helped unlock superstar Wildcat Bryce Cotton to score 26 points including eight triples.
“I was watching Doolittle ... and he was just doing so many other little things that was impacting the actual game,” Anthony said.
“While we were all looking at Bryce (Cotton), it was like ‘that kid right there is the one that’s allowing Bryce to go out there and do what he do’.”
When asked what he thought of the feedback, Doolittle said he was "just doing what needed to be done".
“I take any praise that I can get,” Doolittle said during a school holiday clinic at Cockburn's Wally Hagan Stadium.
“But I’m just doing what needs to be done, I feel like any of my teammates would say the same thing.
“I’ve been putting in a lot of work to make sure that we’re a championship team and I feel like that’s the main goal for everybody.”
The Wildcats will be hoping to make it two wins from as many starts on Friday night when they take on Sydney Kings at RAC Arena in their first official home game of NBL25.
