The Perth Wildcats don’t just want to be the best-performing team in the NBL, but everyone involved at the club knows the importance of being an active member and positive role model in the community.

That focus sees the Wildcats players, coaches and other staff put a large amount of time and effort into getting out and about into the Perth community, as well as regional Western Australia, and a large part of that is visiting a host of schools.

The Wildcats spend significant hours in the community, through a series of different programs targeted at the next generation.

These programs include Gametime by Kmart school visits, Keystart school-holiday clinics, Wildcats Inspire Program and involvement in the local NBL1 West competition. Wildcats players and coaches have also been a part of a grass-roots programs engaging with local basketball associations across WA and regularly invite these associations to practice sessions and home games.

The Gametime by Kmart school visits where the Wildcats players and coaches host clinics are extremely popular with students at each school, each participant will receive a Gametime by Kmart singlet, and goes a long way to helping the Perth Wildcats remain at the forefront of the WA sporting landscape.

Most importantly, while the kids they visit get to learn some basketball skills, there are also other lessons in healthy lifestyle choices. Thanks to all of the schools which have participated in the program so far.
