Former Adelaide 36ers import and Otago Nuggets championship hero Todd Withers has joined Perth Wildcats on a nominated replacement player (NRP) contract.

Withers, who recently completed a strong NBL1 West campaign with Warwick Senators, made the Wildcats’ trip to Japan and has been a training player over the pre-season.

As an NRP, the 28-year-old is eligible to train full-time with the club for the duration of their contract, but can only be elevated to the main roster and suit up for games if another restricted player is injured.

The 201cm forward has a wealth of experience, including a pre-season with Detroit Pistons in the NBA and one season in the NBL with the 36ers.

Withers won a title in the New Zealand Basketball League in 2022 and was named in the competition’s All-Star Five the following year.

He recently made the NBL1 West All-Defensive team alongside fellow Wildcat David Okwera.
