1995 championship-winning Perth Wildcats Coach Dr Adrian Hurley OAM has today been announced as a 2022 inductee into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

Hurley coached the Perth Wildcats from 1993 to 1997, leading the team to the “triple crown” in 1995, winning the pre-season championship, the minor premiership and the title in the same season.

It was the first time in NBL history such feat had ever been achieved.

He was named NBL Coach of the Year in 2004-05 and was inducted into the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach in 2004.

Outside of the NBL, Hurley is a legend of Australian coaching and has made a significant contribution to basketball over four decades.

He became the first coach to take the Australian Boomers through to the medal rounds at the Olympic Games, finishing fourth in 1988 at Seoul.

Congratulations on this incredible and well-deserved honour, Adrian!
