The Wildcats’ off-season continues to produce standout performances across the NBL1 West, New Zealand, Spain and Puerto Rico.
Kristian Doolittle has settled quickly into life with Osos de Manatí, producing back-to-back strong performances in Puerto Rico. Doolittle opened with 24 points, four rebounds and three assists in a win over Criollos de Caguas before following it with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists against Atlético de San Germán. His scoring consistency and impact within the group has transferred seamlessly into his new environment.
David Okwera put together one of his most complete performances of the off-season in East Perth’s win over the Eastern Suns, finishing with 28 points, eight rebounds and six assists. He backed it up the following night with 16 points and five assists against Geraldton, continuing to showcase his offensive game and playmaking.
At Willetton, Tom Gerovich remained a steady contributor across a split weekend for the Tigers. Gerovich recorded 11 points, five rebounds and five assists in a win over Warwick before adding 12 points and eight rebounds against Geraldton. His ability to impact games in key moments continues to stand out within Willetton’s experienced lineup.
Cameron Huefner strong run for Perry Lakes rolls on, recording another double-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in a win over Lakeside. Huefner’s offensive confidence and rebounding presence remain key parts of the Hawks’ attack.
In New Zealand, Elijah Pepper maintained his impressive form for the Wellington Saints with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists in a road win over the Franklin Bulls. Pepper continues to balance scoring and playmaking at a high level while embracing a larger offensive role.
Over in Spain, David Duke Jr. contributed across two games for BAXI Manresa. After adding four points and three rebounds against MoraBanc Andorra, Duke responded with a strong performance against Basketball Girona, finishing with 12 points, four rebounds and six assists in a win.
Meanwhile, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. and Al Ahly now turn their attention to the Basketball Africa League playoffs, which begin on May 22.
