The countdown towards NBL27 continued through May, with impressive Wildcats outings at home and abroad.
David Okwera delivered another strong showing for the East Perth Eagles, finishing with 29 points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks against the Cockburn Cougars. Okwera now prepares for a Wildcats teammate showdown on Friday evening, 22 May, when East Perth take on Cam Huefner and the Perry Lakes Hawks.
Huefner also impressed across the weekend, recording 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and a block against the Warwick Senators. He now turns his focus to another highly anticipated clash with Okwera and the East Perth Eagles.
In New Zealand, Elijah Pepper earned Player of the Match honours for the Wellington Saints after producing 29 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in a win over the Taranaki Airs.
Kristian Doolittle produced another dominant double-double performance in Puerto Rico, finishing with 21 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for Osos de Manati in a heartbreaking one-point loss to Mets de Guaynabo.
In Spain, David Duke Jr featured in Basquet Manresa’s win over Casademont Zaragoza, with Duke's defensive pressure evident as the club continues its push towards the post-season.
Meanwhile, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr and Al Ahly Ly prepare to begin their Basketball Africa League playoff campaign this week, with matchups against Tunisia’s Club Africain scheduled for May 23 and May 25.
