Pepper Back in Green and Gold
Elijah Pepper has earned national honours once again, named in the Australian Boomers squad for the first window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers against New Zealand.
The announcement follows Pepper's most efficient performance of the season for the Perth Wildcats, with 18 points and 4 assists on 70% shooting, in just 19 minutes against the Cairns Taipans.
Pepper’s rise has continued to build momentum, averaging 36.0 points, 7.3 assists, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals across 23 games for the Warwick Senators in NBL1 West, while shooting 49% from the field and 87% at the free throw line.
Pepper, who top-scored in both of his Boomers appearances during the Asia Cup Qualifiers earlier this year, joins a Boomers roster that has retained much of its Asia Cup championship core for the opening window:
Davo Hickey
Owen Foxwell
Elijah Pepper
Dash Daniels
Angus Glover
Jaylin Galloway
Alex Ducas
Josh Bannan
Jack White
Will Magnay
Jordan Hunter
Nick Kay
The Boomers will meet the Tall Blacks in a two-game window across Australia and New Zealand as the road to the 2027 World Cup officially begins.
The Perth Wildcats wish to congratulate Elijah Pepper on his Boomers Squad selection.
