Perth Wildcats All Abilities Carnival Returns for 2025

The event has become a highlight on the Wildcat’s calendar and continues to grow, with more than 500 participants from across Western Australia taking part in the carnival.

This year marks the first time the carnival has expanded to include both secondary and primary school students.

Thirty-two teams from 18 high schools, including students travelling from as far as Bunbury will hit the court, followed by 18 teams from 10 different primary schools taking part in their own dedicated day of basketball fun.

For the students taking part, it’s more than just a fun day out. It’s a chance to be seen, supported and celebrated. The carnival gives students living with all abilities an opportunity to play basketball in a safe and supportive environment and the joy on their faces speaks volumes about just how much it means.

“Year after year this carnival continues to grow and become one of the highlights of our community calendar,” said Perth Wildcats Community Development Manager Katie Reed.

“To be able to provide this opportunity to hundreds of students with varying abilities is something we are incredibly proud of. To now be running the event across two days, including primary students for the first time, is a fantastic milestone.”

There will be plenty of action off the court as well, students will be able to enjoy face painting and an appearance from everyone’s favourite Wildcat, Wilbur!

In a special finale to each carnival day, students will take on a lineup of Wildcats players. Captain Jesse Wagstaff, Kristian Doolittle, Sunday Dech, Lat Mayen and new recruit NBL Next Star Noa Kouakou-Heugue will need to get their practice in if they are to stand a chance against the All Abilities Allstar teams - with the students no doubt taking the win.
