The Perth Wildcats head to Hobart looking to respond after a narrow defeat to Illawarra, following a convincing win over Cairns the game prior.
The team continues to build defensive chemistry and will be aiming to convert that into a more consistent offensive rhythm as Round 7 begins.
Tasmania return home at 5–3 after a tight finish on the road against the Sydney Kings.
The JackJumpers will look to make the most of home court advantage, while the Wildcats aim to even the season series after a three-point loss when the sides last met in Perth.
The story of the round for the Red Army is the inclusion of newly signed guard David Duke Jr., who arrived in Australia earlier this week.
Duke Jr. joins Perth following stints with the Brooklyn Nets and San Antonio Spurs, bringing high-level experience and a reputation for intensity on the defensive end.
Known for his physicality and two-way play, Duke highlighted his defensive instincts and ability to create offence in transition as key areas he hopes to impact from the outset.
He also spoke about the opportunity to test himself in the fast-paced NBL and how the style of play suits his strengths.
“The league plays with great energy and tempo, which really fits my game. I like to defend, get out and run, and make things happen at both ends of the floor,” Duke said.
Heading into Wednesday’s clash, Perth sit second on the Ignite Cup ladder with a 1–1 record from their opening two Ignite Cup games, behind only the New Zealand Breakers. The Tasmania JackJumpers are close behind at 1–0, having claimed their first Wednesday night basketball win against Sydney.

Jaron Rillie will replace Dylan Windler on the roster.
