Sarr, who starred in his debut season for the Wildcats in NBL24 to catapult his name into No.1 pick calculations, described the Australian competition as a "no-brainer best decision" for draft prospects ready for a professional game.
“It’s a really physical league, and you have to be ready for that, but if you feel you’re ready for a professional game, the NBL is a no-brainer best decision,” the Wildcats' inaugural Next Star said from a pre-draft event at New York City's Empire State Building.
“Even when it got hard, it’s just a learning curve.
“You can use every little part of it just to get better.”
The 19-year-old is expected to go into the top-two picks in the draft on Thursday morning WST time, with Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards his likely destinations.
The Wildcats are hosting a special draft party at The Sporting Globe in Belmont from 7.30am on Thursday morning as staff, fans and members celebrate his amazing achievement.
There's also an exclusive screening of the documentary 'Alex Sarr: Forever a Wildcat', presented by The Sporting Globe, at the same venue on Tuesday evening from 7pm.
