The Perth Wildcats thank David Okwera as he continues his career with BC Balkan Botevgrad.
David Okwera spent three seasons with the Wildcats after returning to Western Australia ahead of NBL24, steadily growing his role and becoming a regular part of Perth’s rotation.
His development was rewarded at the end of NBL26 when he was named the club’s Most Improved Player after averaging 5.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 58 per cent from the field.
Across his time in Perth, Okwera continued to build his game with the East Perth Eagles in NBL1 West and the Franklin Bulls in New Zealand.
He now moves into the next stage of his professional career, joining BC Balkan Botevgrad for the BKT EuroCup.
The Perth Wildcats thank Tom Gerovich for his contribution to the club across the past two seasons.

Tom Gerovich became the first graduate of the Rio Tinto Wildcats Academy to earn a contract with the Perth Wildcats when he joined as a Development Player ahead of NBL25.
Across his two seasons with the club, the WA product made a strong impression as a selfless teammate who consistently put the group first, with his contribution recognised when he received the Coaches Award at the club’s NBL26 MVP Awards.
Gerovich also remained a key part of the Willetton Tigers in NBL1 West during his time with the Wildcats.
The club thanks Tom for his commitment and the energy he brought to the roster, and wishes him all the best for the next chapter of his basketball career.
Both David and Tom are highly respected players and quality people who made a positive impact on those around them during their time at the club.
