Summary
The Perth Wildcats have suffered their second consecutive loss at the hands of Sydney Kings in Sydney. After a relatively promising start by the Wildcats, Sydney put their foot down and finished the first quarter with a 13-point lead. With the margin blowing out to as much as 22 points, Wildcats did their best in the third quarter to stay in the game, clawing back to within 12 points. Sydney were too strong in the end, overrunning the visitors in the final term. Bryce Cotton and Corey Webster finished with 22 points apiece for the Wildcats, while Xavier Cooks starred for Sydney with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Reaction
John Rillie shared his thoughts post-game.
"Ever since we focused on this game, we talked about the pace Sydney play at," he said.
"They do a great job of playing fast and it's not just one guy creating that, they have multiple guys who can create that so our urgency to get back and have some type of resistence is very important in the first 3-5 seconds in traansitioning from offence to defence.
"We did not do a good job of that, we didn't have the required urgency and we looked like a team that had been on the road for as long as we have tonight."
