Cotton was head and shoulders above the rest of the competition to help Perth bounce back from a 2-5 start to finish second spot on the NBL ladder.
Only Andrew Gaze, a seven-time winner, has now won more NBL MVP awards than the superstar guard, who also levelled with club legends Ricky Grace and Shawn Redhage as six-time winners of the Wildcats’ MVP gong.
He took out the NBL MVP award with a staggering 118 votes, more than double runner-up Chris Goulding of Melbourne United with 53, while New Zealand Breaker Parker Jackson-Cartwright was third on 50.
The 31-year-old recovered from a slow start to the season to average a competition-high 22.9 points per game to go with 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds.
Cotton’s NBL24 campaign season included six matches where he scored more than 30 points, highlighted by a 41-point game against reigning champs Sydney at RAC Arena in December.
He reached some incredible milestones along the way, becoming just the third person in the NBL's 40-minute era to reach 5000, joining Goulding and Daniel Johnson when he got there against the Kings in Sydney in January.
