Sharpshooter Michael Harris went berserk in the NBL1 West on Friday night, hitting 10 triples among his 42 points to lead Warwick Senators to a 107-83 win over Perry Lakes at Bendat Basketball Centre.
Harris scored 15 points in the opening term and was deadly all night, shooting at 67 per cent from outside the arc and 63.6 per cent from the field, to go with six rebounds and three assists.
It equalled his Senators debut effort against East Perth in round one when he also scored 42 points.
The 24-year-old is averaging 26.1 points per game, the fourth-highest in the competition, to go with 5.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
He slowed down a touch the following night, finishing with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 96-87 loss to reigning champs Geraldton at Warwick Stadium.
Elsewhere in the NBL1 West, David Okwera posted yet another double-double for East Perth and fell two blocks shy of a triple-double.
The Wildcats big man starred as East Perth won a thriller over Mandurah, 102-100 at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre on Saturday night.
Okwera put up season-high numbers in points (25), rebounds (14) and blocks (eight) to go with four assists in a stunning all-round display.
The 21-year-old is leading the competition in blocks with 2.67 per game, while he's also third in rebounds with 11.33.
He's got five double-doubles in six games, falling one rebound short in the other.
In New Zealand, a career-best performance from Tai Webster wasn’t enough for the Night ’n Day Otago Nuggets to get over the line against Canterbury on the road on Thursday night.
Webster kept the Nuggets in the contest, scoring a game-high 40 points in the 96-85 loss to the Rams.
Webster, who shot at a 72 per cent from the field, was just the second player to hit 40-plus points this Sal’s NBL season.
Three days later, it was fellow Wildcat Ben Henshall's turn to dominate, helping the Nuggets end a three-game losing run against Nelson at Dunedin's Edgar Centre on Sunday.
Henshall scored a team-high 31 points in the 107-94 victory, the Nuggets' 50th since returning to the competition.
The teenage Boomers representative posted a double-double, finishing with 10 rebounds and four assists to go with his equal game-high points.
He shot at 70 per cent from the field and drained a game-high five triples in a confidence-boosting performance.
Young tall Jack Andrew (10 rebounds, nine points and three blocks) also returned to form after battling illness over the past week.
Webster backed up his 40-point haul with 15 and four assists.
Hyrum Harris missed Wellington's road win over Manawatu on Sunday with a knee issue, while Development Player Dontae Russo-Nance (wrist) is yet to make his debut for the Nuggets.
